New Permit Acceptance System
The online permit acceptance web site (that West County EMS & Fire Protection District has been providing to you) has been replaced with a new web site. The new web site is called PermitTree and can be found at http://www.PermitTree.com. Or you can continue to go through West County’s web site as you always have by going to Permits and then clicking Online Permit Application. West County's previous online permit acceptance web site will be hereinafter referred to as Legacy System.
There are a couple things that you should know about PermitTree that are different from West County’s Legacy System.
First, you’ll sign in to PermitTree using the same user name and password that you used on the Legacy System. To sign in, click the Sign in link located at the top right of the web page. When you sign in, if you do not have an email address on file – you’ll be asked to enter one. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you enter one. If you have an email address on file, please verify that the email address is correct as this is how PermitTree will communicate to you (on behalf of the Fire Marshal) regarding the status of your applications.
Second, there are a few menu options that you’ll need to be aware of in PermitTree before proceeding. Once you sign in to PermitTree, there will be a Member menu item listed on the menu bar. Hovering over this menu option will display four menu options. They are:
- New Application – you’ll use this option to fill out a new Application for Permit. When clicked, you’ll be taken to a page where a single link will be displayed (at the bottom of the page) titled File an Application for Permit. When you click this link, you’ll be taken to the Application for Permit page. This is the page that you’ll
complete and submit to the fire marshal.
- My Applications – you’ll use this option to see a list of all applications (current as well as archived) that you’ve filed with West County.
- Select Fire Department – you’ll use this option to select a different fire
department to file an application with. You will select the Fire Department
covering the municipality your property is located in.
- Manage Defaults – you’ll use this option to set your default State, County, Fire Department, and, Municipality.
To the right of the Member menu option is a Contact Us menu option. This is for contacting the administrators of PermitTree - not the Fire Marshal at West County EMS & Fire Protection District.
If you’re new to West County’s online permit acceptance, you’ll need to register as a member on PermitTree. It's free. To do so, click the Register link located at the top right of the web page.
To change characteristics of your user profile, click the Edit profile link located at the top right of the web page when you're signed in.
